Hot Toddy with Bourbon and Honey

This is my go to drink during the winter. I can’t think of a better way to wait out the cold than to make a hot toddy, light a fire and listen to some great music. It is the next best thing to hibernating. So warm and cozy.

There are many many different ways to make a hot toddy. I prefer to keep mine simple with a bit of honey, a shot of bourbon and a squeeze of lemon.

Hot Toddy with Bourbon and Honey (1 serving)

Ingredients

1 cup hot water

1 tablespoon honey

1 shot bourbon

1 lemon wedge

Pour hot water in mug and stir in honey until it dissolves. Add bourbon and lemon juice. Snuggle up on the couch and enjoy.

If you do feel like venturing out this winter, there are many places in DC that serve hot toddies. My favorites are Tabard Inn, Boundary Stone, Duke’s Grocery and Quill.
