Summer in DC: The Bucket List

Taking a break from work in Farragut Square. Yes, they set up cornhole.

We are halfway through July so it may be a little late to post a summer bucket list. Oh well. I still want to do all of these things this summer. The days are long, the nights are warm and I think I will be able to cross a few thing off my list.

Hangout at Hill Country’s Backyard Barbeque at the National Building Museum.

Take advantage of Free Summer Saturdays at the Corcoran.

Stock up on Bullfrog Bagels. I tried some at the Cork pop-up before they sold out and they were delicious. I want more.

Swing by Belga Cafe or B Too for Belgium Restaurant Week.

Attend a History and Hops event at the Heurich House. I love history. I love hops. I think I will love this.

Check out some new restaurants and bars, particularly Crane & Turtle, Dino’s Grotto and Chaplin.

Watch a movie at Screen on the Green.

Listen to jazz at Right Proper Brewery on a lazy Sunday evening.

Take advantage of friends who have pools/explore some of DC’s public and private pools.

Tour 3 Stars Brewing Company. I have yet to meet a 3 Stars beer that I do not like. Their saisons are amazing. I’d love to swing by Republic for lunch before or after the tour. And also browse for home goods at Trohv.

Spend lots of time at Compass Rose and befriend David Greene.

Escape DC for a bit. I love it here but I get cranky when it is too hot and humid. I can’t wait to spend some time in the cooler climates of Seattle, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.

What are your plans for (the rest of) summer?

Looking for more things to do in DC? Here’s my spring guide.
