The first few months of 2015 have been quiet ones (aside from a work trip to Cuba — more on that later). A lot of my time has been spent hunkered down in my apartment, waiting for the snow to melt and the weather to warm. Something has be to pretty great to coax me out of my hibernation. Here are a few of those great things.

Sipping my way through the cocktail menu during an impromptu trip to José Andrés’ minibar.

Finally making shakshuka. I’d been meaning to make this for a while and it was so easy. I used the Smitten Kitchen and New York Times recipes for help. (And my picture was featured on the ACreativeDC Instagram feed!)

Eating all the Bullfrog Bagels at Glen’s. This has quickly become one of my favorite weekend traditions. And the scallion cream cheese is amazing.
