Cherry Blossoms in DC

Spring in DC: The 2015 Bucket List

Spring in DC

It’s finally spring in DC. Cherry blossoms are blooming, tourists are standing on the left side of the escalator, and I’m ready to take advantage of all the city has to offer. Here’s what I plan to do over the coming weeks.

Dine at the Chef’s Tasting Table at Glen’s because what is better than “a knock-out, all-local feast with beer, wine, and cider pairings?”

Take in a performance by the Washington Ballet at beerballet&bubbly.

Hike the Billy Goat Trail in Great Falls.

Fill up a growler and take a tour at Port City brewery in Alexandria. I’d like to grab brunch at Virtue Feed & Grain beforehand.

Enjoy the patio, live music, and a cocktail at Phillips After 5 at The Phillips Collection (after enjoying the art, of course).

Spend lots of lazy Saturday and Sunday mornings walking through Union Market.

Watch a Nats game and hang out a Cantina Marina pre- or post-game.

Stretch out at a Grip the Mat event.

Craft the night away at one of the Smithsonian’s Handi Hours. The event combines craft projects, art, and a beer selection curated by Churchkey’s Greg Engert.

Test my limits with spicy food at Thip Khao.

Try malort at Ivy and Coney, one of the few places in DC that carries this mysterious Chicago-based liquor. Some call malort the worst tasting liquor of all time…so I want to try it?

Road trip to Annapolis and have a pizza at Vin 909. It has been a year or two since I’ve been there and I still dream about that pizza.

Picnic at the Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival. Maybe check out Maketto beforehand?

Let me know what I should add to the list! And if you are looking for more things to do, be sure to check out my bucket list from last spring.
